Please sign up today to become a Mentor or Mentee in our online Mentoring Program. The goal of this program is to provide AAWR members an opportunity to interact informally with more experienced members of AAWR to discuss issues related to career development, promotion, radiology research, balancing family and work. Participants determine topics for discussion, but they may include advice about career path, work in progress, or how to get started. To sign up, you have to login to the AAWR Members Network on AAWR web site. http://www.aawr.org/members_new/Login.asp

Online AAWR Forum
The online Forum available through the AAWR website has restricted access for AAWR members only. http://www.aawr.org/members_new/ForumLogin.asp
Access is password-protected; use your e-mail as Login, and the password.
We hope that this Forum will become a valuable resource for our members, who can openly share their experiences, ask questions, provide feedback and guidance, and brainstorm on issues of importance to women in radiology, such as maternity leave, childcare, family life, stress, boards, and career development. The goal of this project is to give AAWR members an opportunity to voice personal and professional concerns and receive feedback from peers and other women radiologists who have succeeded in advancing in our specialty.

We structured the forum to include discussion categories such as Meet and Greet, Radiology Training (Life and Family in Radiology Residency, Pregnancy and Radiology Training, Radiology Boards, Research and Clinical Experience, AFIP: Meet and Share a Room), Careers (Looking for a Job and Negotiating, Career Development in Academic Radiology, Career in Private Practice, Mentors and Mentees – Help Center). The Forum can be expanded to include new debate threads.

Any user can add a new discussion topic, respond to existing questions, and interact with other members through the internal messaging system. We hope that our friendly forum will play an important role in the networking and mentoring activities of the AAWR membership. Please contribute and make it YOUR FORUM.

Take a moment to visit the AAWR Bookstore at our website http://books.aawr.org/
The book selection is based on the Radiology Bibliography from the AAWR Survival Guide for Women Radiologists “The AAWR Pocket Mentor” and also includes authors who are AAWR members. Review the listing. If you find a title that is of interest to you, make the selection and you will be directed to the Amazon.com website to complete the purchase. For every book sold though a direct referral from the AAWR web site, our society can earn up to 15% in referral fees with no extra cost to you. AAWR earns referral fees when a visitor follows a link from the AAWR Web site to Amazon.com and makes a purchase.

An individual item link to a book sold by Amazon.com and discounted 10-30% will earn a referral fee of 15% of the sale price if the purchase is a direct sale. A direct sale occurs when the customer adds the individually linked book from the AAWR Bookstore to her or his shopping cart immediately upon entering the Amazon.com site.
