Goal and Strategies
The Committee’s goal is to empower AAWR members to achieve pay
parity with their male colleagues. Strategies include:
a. Distribute national benchmarks on salaries, such as the AAMC Annual
Report on Medical School Faculty Salaries; also have data according to
gender. Work on assessing salary differences for those in
private practice.
b. Workshops on salary negotiation during national meetings, such as
the RSNA, ARRS, ASTRO, etc. These workshops would be open to all interested
parties, invite guest speakers, and include presentations by AAWR members
who have gone through this process, etc.
c. Create a repository of useful information in the AAWR website, including
references and links to sources of literature, statistical and demographic
information, and other organizations.
