Intersociety Liaisons for AAWR

BUILDING CONNECTIONS AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY AND CREATING NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR CONNECTION

The Intersociety Liaisons for AAWR initiative is designed to expand networking and collaboration opportunities for members across a wide range of specialty and society meetings, other than RSNA Annual Meeting.

Our goal is to create networking opportunities and ultimately, meaningful connections, foster mentorship, and grow engagement within AAWR.

WHY THIS MATTERS

By extending AAWR’s presence across multiple professional meetings, we aim to:

  • Increase networking opportunities for members
  • Encourage mentorship and collaboration
  • Strengthen member engagement and visibility
  • Support the growth of AAWR membership and promote career advancement of the members

HOW WE DO THIS

Informal Networking Events

Sponsored by the AAWR, the AAWR member liaisons have begun to organize casual, high-impact meetups at major society meetings, such as:

  • Coffee Meet-ups (e.g. Association of Academic Radiology 2026 meeting)
  • Small Group Lunch gathering (e.g., at American Society of Neuroradiology 2025 meeting)
  • Happy hour (e.g., at Society of Breast Imaging 2025 meeting)
  • AAWR Networking Breakfasts e.g. at Society of Pediatric Radiology meeting 2025 and International Pediatric Radiology (IPR) Congress 2026

Liaisons are encouraged to:

  • Review upcoming meeting schedules
  • Identify optimal timing and format
  • Submit proposals with budget estimates

Formal Programming Opportunities

Where possible, liaisons collaborate with partner societies to:

  • Develop joint AAWR sessions in the meeting programming
  • Elevate AAWR’s academic and professional presence
