Jennifer Chiang, MD

PGY-II Resident
Stanford Medicine Radiation Oncology

Dr. Jennifer Chiang was born and raised in Arizona before traveling to the East Coast to pursue her undergraduate studies at Harvard University, where she majored in neurobiology and minored in East Asian studies. She then attended medical school at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, AZ, where she focused my dedication towards patient advocacy and health disparities through research in Radiation Oncology, investigating the challenges that patients face regarding accessibility to more advanced forms of radiation therapy. Simultaneously, she obtained an MS in the Science of Health Care Delivery, exploring insurance coverage barriers to proton beam therapy. These interests, along with the fulfillment derived from being a dependable provider for cancer patients, inspired her to seek a career in Radiation Oncology. She completed her Transitional Year internship at Riverside Community Hospital, and she now looks forward to growing as a physician, colleague, researcher, and future mentor at Stanford Radiation Oncology. Dr. Chiang is an active member of the Society for Women in Radiation Oncology (SWRO) and serves as the AAWR liaison for that organization, working to increase collaborative activities between the 2 organizations. She joined the board of the AAWR as the MIT Co-Lead in 2024 and looks forward to increasing involvement of and services for current and future radiation oncology residents in AAWR. Outside of work, she is a classically trained pianist and flutist, and she enjoys hiking, baking, and spending time with her friends and family.
