AAWR MISSION

The AAWR was founded in 1981 to provide a forum for issues unique to women in radiology, radiation oncology, and related professions. The Association sponsors programs that promote opportunities for women, facilitate networking among members and other professionals, and provides mentorship opportunities for the next generation of women radiologists. 

EDITH A. HIGGINBOTHAM, MD, MS ENDOWMENT

The AAWR would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Higginbotham family for their very generous donation in memory of Edith A. Higginbotham, MD, MS. This endowment will be used for the Member-in-Training Luncheon at RSNA which will now be called the AAWR Higginbotham Resident Lecture. Dear AAWR Members,

As the new President of the AAWRI would like to start by thanking Dr. Maria Kelly, our 2018 AAWR President, for all her time and effort to improve our organization in the past year. Dr. Kelly achieved all of her goals as stated in the Spring 2018 Focus Newsletter [1], including: revamping the website for efficiency and a better user experience; making important connections for corporate sponsorship; helping to put a face to AAWR by participating in more inter-society events; and changing in-training and medical student dues so membership is free for this important constituency.  Read More
