University of Miami, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Katharine Lampen-Sachar, M.D., is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of Miami, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Kate serves as the Breast Imaging Clinical Rotation Director and an Assistant Program Director at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital. Prior to joining the University of Miami, she served as Section Chief of Breast Imaging at Baptist Health South Florida, Miami Cancer Institute, Vice Chair of Radiology at Florida International University, and as a member of Radiology Associates of South Florida. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she is grateful for the opportunities to serve on several national committees. Dr. Lampen-Sachar currently serves as the chairman of RSNA’s Digital and Live Education Committee, and she is a member of RSNA's Education Council. She is currently co-course director of Beyond the Boards: Innovative Approaches for Today’s Radiology Educator. Kate was elected to American College of Radiology’s College Nominating Committee and appointed to ACR's Screening and Emerging Technology Committee. She has been involved in AAWR since residency, first volunteering on the Member in Training Committee, and now on the Membership Committee. She is a reviewer for several journals, including RadioGraphics, Clinical Imaging, the Journal of Breast Imaging, and Radiology Case Reports. Dr. Lampen-Sachar's passion for educating the next generation of radiologists started as an Assistant Professor of Radiology and Assistant Attending radiologist of breast and body imaging at New York -Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell. Much of her national work has been dedicated to pursuing high quality and innovative resident education. At her home institution, Kate is a member of the admissions committees for the UM medical school, the Diagnostic Radiology residency as well as the Breast Imaging Fellowship. She is actively involved in breast imaging and radiology education research. |
